PLC Engineering Services was founded in 2024 by Jesse Kohler, with partners Evan Protexter and Shelby Suski joining shortly thereafter. The company was created to deliver a level of PLS software implementation and consulting that was not previously available in the industry.
With a combined 30 years of experience in the power industry, the team brings deep expertise gained through their work at Power Line Systems, Inc., including software support, new feature testing and development, training, and IT operations. This background uniquely positions PLC to provide both technical precision and practical industry insight

jesse kohler
Jesse has more than 16 years of experience in the design of overhead power lines ranging in voltages from 69kV through 345kV using the PLS software suite. As the former Senior Manager of the Power Line Systems solution engineering and technical support team he has provided technical support in PLS software to users around the world in over 130 different countries. He has conducted over 60 1-week long courses in using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE to over 1700 engineers and designers wordwide. Jesse also currently sits on Subcommittee 4 of the National Electric Safety Code and is an active member in the IEEE Power Energy Society.

Evan protexter
Evan is a licensed Professional Engineer with over a decade of experience in overhead power line design, training, and software implementation. Evan’s experience in the use of the PLS software suite to design power lines ranging from 69kV to 345kV led him to a position in the technical support group of Power Line Systems. While at PLS, Evan’s focus was on both internal and external support of the software through training, feature verification and testing, user support, and software sales. With a broad background in use of the software as a consultant and working on the software support and development side, Evan’s focus is now on helping companies get the most out of their software through client-specific training, standards development, and software implementation.

Shelby brings nearly 20 years of software development expertise to PLC. Previously, he spent 12 years at PLS where he spearheaded their cloud infrastructure implementation and served as a principal developer for PLS-GRID. With a strong foundation in Computer Science, Shelby now drives PLC's technical operations by overseeing IT environment configurations, building custom tools, and streamlining business processes..
